However, before they can fully revel in their new relationship, a video of them in the hot tub goes online and they are basically a meme. Lara Jean feels humiliated and she pretty much knows it is Gen, but Peter just says that he will handle it and that it can't be Gen. Meanwhile, Lara Jean also has to deal with her insecurities - this is her first boyfriend, said boyfriend has baggage by the name of one vindictive ex, and there's also the fact that she doesn't know how fast or slow to let the relationship progress.

You can see how it would feel for a teen girl like her to feel anxiety over so many things, but she tries to keep her chin up and get through it, let her life proceed normally, have awesome and heartening moments with her family, etc. Then comes John Ambrose McClaren - who sort of had a weird sidebar intro in the previous book. His entry brings back the nostalgia of their friendship in middle school, and for old times' sake, they engage in a game of assassin. Her interactions with him increase as their lives keep intersecting and she starts to like him, too.
But she is still pretty much in love with Peter, who is starting to feel distant to her. Combine that with Peter being there on more occasions for Gen than for her, it is a recipe for disaster.
I was leaning much into John for this book - he is so cute, and honestly a better pick than Peter, who keeps letting her down. He often acts jealous, even though he himself still keeps Gen in his life, despite her being terrible to Lara Jean.
His priorities are also often messed up when it comes to which girl's feelings he should spare. He says pretty things, but his actions prove otherwise. While I would have normally said that these storylines made for a compelling arc, the truth is that it all comes down by the end.
I felt that the violation of Lara Jean's privacy by that video wasn't given enough weight in the end, when it is revealed who did it. That person did not even show remorse for their actions, and instead blamed Lara Jean for a long ago slight, and Lara Jean even felt bad for it.
I get a feeling that more often than not, Lara Jean is showing a doormat personality. There is being a nice person and then there is letting people walk all over you, and while Lara Jean shows a spine sometimes, when it counts she also backs down. The starting of the book was good, but then the ending ruined it and I was disappointed all over again. I am holding off reading the final book because I want to get the last resolution to the story, whatever it is until such time I feel less angry about the ending of this one.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Salma from A good sequel I enjoy this second book though i prefer the first one. The end was so cute and Lara Jean is a good main character. I ship more John and Lara Jean. I'm excited to know waht happens next in the final book.

Jenny Han writes the most beautiful cutest books ever. I fell in love with two love interests but found one was TOO easy to love and didn't make my heart yearn for him. Sounds sooo cheezy but i was basking in the teenage drama and heartbreak. I loved this book way more than i expected! Teen Romance Novels
It was so easy to read and easy to fall in love with all of the characters! I cannot wait for the third book to come out! But Jenny Han has found a way to not only revive my addiction but send it in to full force. I started and finish both books in this series in 4 days but I was hopelessly addicted to Lara Jean and her "quirky" love life and her lovable family. This book makes me love the popular boy, and feel nostalgic for high school romance though I wouldn't dare go back!

I Still Love You are just so cute and heartwarming : I swear, these books are the definition of adorable. I read this first book this past summer and I loved it just as much. They are both just fantastic! Rated 4 out of 5 by Julia from A great sequel I loved this book and am always happy to hear more from Laura Jean Date published: I want it all, and to have it all, you have to risk it all.
Much more eventful and filled with more cute moments of fluttery happiness. I think it was a great and fitting sequel to the first book. I enjoyed the wide range of characters in this book and I easily grew to love the majority of them; they all have unique personalities and character traits that I really admire in people. I also liked the different morals and nuggets of wisdom that were cleverly implanted in the story. I felt like this book focussed on more than just the romance which is always nice to have a bit of different subplots in a book.
Lastly, Peter is hot and sexy and cute and sweet and caring and lovely and beautiful and chivalrous and perfect. The last two pages of this book were absolutely the best pages of this entire book. My heart is soaring. I love this book as well as the first!! Such a cute and well written sequel. Can't wait to read the third book when it comes out!!! There is just a perfect amount of romance and humor in it that makes them such great reads. I heard there is a third book and I can't wait to get my hands on that!
